Stretch Mesh licensing issue for Windows 7 64bit

  1. I'm running Win 7 64-bit and I've followed the directions to the letter, creating the C:\ksLm folder and whatnot, but I can't get the demo to work. I'm constantly getting this error:
    // Kickstand license is invalid.
    // Warning: StretchMesh License was not loaded, deformer will not evaluate. //
    I want to also note that when I tried to get a license it wouldn't accept mine even though it's what my ipconfig/all physical address is and I had to fake it in order to get the license. I then changed it back to what my physical address is via notepad. I'd really appreciate some help. :(

  2. To get the correct MAC address, you can load the plug-in without a license, then enter the command ksLicenseRequest in the MEL script editor and copy the mac address it pops up and paste it into the eval text field. Download the new license and reload stretchmesh.

  3. I don't understand what you mean by eval text field. And why would I need to use the ksLicenseRequest when I already know what my mac address is?

  4. The eval text field is on our eval submittion web page. I suggest that you request a new license using the correctly formatted MAC address from ksLicenseRequest. Doing this should eliminate having to fake your physical address.

  5. It won't let me submit my mac address, that's what started this mess. I get this error:

    Hardware ID must be in the form: 000a333b0123
    The easiest way to obtain your system’s MAC address would be to go to your flexlm folder, either c:\flexlm or \var\flexlm and open the aw.dat file. Copy and paste the 12 digit code after HOSTID. It should look like: 000a1234a00

    Mine is: 0000AE421500

  6. It works now, there seemed to be an issue with upper case, the web page only accepted like: 0000ae421500. Please try now.

  7. I did as you said and replaced the old file with the new one, but it still isn't working.
